About Cash for Junk Cars Northwest Indiana

Cash for Junk Cars Northwest Indiana buys junk, wrecked and scrap cars in Lake County, Indiana, from Hammond and Whiting to Gary, Merrillville and Hobart, and tows them away for free. You send the car's details, we call with an offer, and you're paid at pickup.

What we do

We buy cars that have reached the end of their road: cars that won't start, cars that were in a crash, cars that leak or have a bent frame, and cars that are only worth their metal. Cars, pickups, vans and SUVs in any condition, including burned, flooded and stripped ones. We pick them up from driveways, garages, alleys, repair shops and apartment or HOA lots, and one trip can take several.

Where we work

Hammond, Whiting, East Chicago, Munster, Highland, Griffith, Gary, Merrillville, Hobart, Lake Station and New Chicago. Our Indiana coverage stops at Gary and the towns touching it, so we don't go east past Lake Station and Hobart or south past Merrillville. The roads we cover page shows the area road by road.

How we work

  • Free towing. There's no towing charge, and nothing for the tow comes out of your offer.
  • Paid at pickup. You're paid when the car is collected, by cash or a phone transfer through Zelle, Cash App or a similar app.
  • Offers don't expire. Take your time deciding.
  • Same-day pickup is often possible. We confirm a time when we call.
  • No title? We can still help. In Indiana a junk car changes hands with one of two documents: the title, or a certificate of authority from the BMV. A replacement title from the BMV is $15. The certificate is $4, and you apply for it by showing the car is yours, for example with its current registration. If the car is less than 15 model years old, the law requires one of the two. Let us know which papers you've got, whether that's a bill of sale, the registration or an insurance card, and on the call we'll point you to the route that fits.

Why the site is built around roads

The towns we cover run into each other along a handful of main roads: Indianapolis Boulevard, Ridge Road, Broadway, the Borman, Cline Avenue and US 12 and US 20 through Gary. Ridge Road itself sits on an old Lake Michigan shoreline, and the ground around it is the dune-and-swale country of the Calumet region. That's where the ridge lines on this site come from.
