How it works, from the form to the tow
Selling a junk car to Cash for Junk Cars Northwest Indiana takes four steps: send the car's details, hear our offer, pick a pickup time, and get paid when the car is towed away. The tow is free, and same-day pickup is often possible anywhere from Hammond to Hobart.
Send the car
Year, make, model and whether you have the title. After that, your name, a phone number and the pickup spot.
Hear the offer
We call with an offer for the car as it is. No obligation to take it.
Pick a time
Same-day pickup is often possible. Tell us about keys, flat tires or tight spots.
Paid at pickup
The tow is free. You sign the paperwork and get your money as the car leaves, in cash or by phone transfer.
What to have ready on pickup day
- Proof it's yours. The Indiana title, signed over at pickup. No title? We can still help: In Indiana a junk car changes hands with one of two documents: the title, or a certificate of authority from the BMV. A replacement title from the BMV is $15. The certificate is $4, and you apply for it by showing the car is yours, for example with its current registration. If the car is less than 15 model years old, the law requires one of the two. Let us know which papers you've got, whether that's a bill of sale, the registration or an insurance card, and on the call we'll point you to the route that fits.
- Keys, if you have them. No keys is fine; say so when we call.
- An empty car. Check the glovebox, the trunk, under the seats and the visor.
- Your plate off. In Indiana the plate stays with you. Here's what to do with it.
- A clear path. Move anything blocking the truck, or tell us what can't be moved.
What we need to know
The form asks for the basics. When we call, a few extra details help the offer and the pickup match:
- Does it start? Does it roll?
- Any damage we should know about, like a bent frame or a leak?
- Is it in a driveway, a garage, an alley or a lot?
- The nearest main road. Our road pages show how we find cars around the area.
Selling more than one? One pickup can take several cars.
Pickup questions
- Do I have to be there at pickup?
- Plan to be there, or have someone there who can hand over the keys and the paperwork. Tell us when we call if that's a problem.
- What if the car won't roll?
- Tell us about flat tires, locked wheels or a car boxed in by others. It changes which truck comes, not whether we can buy it.
- Can I change my mind after the offer?
- Yes. Nothing is binding until you agree to a pickup, and the offer has no expiry date.
- How am I paid?
- At pickup, by cash or a phone transfer through Zelle, Cash App or a similar app.
